W/R: Ex-Convict Arrested for Alleged Rape and Murder of 17-Year-Old Niece

The police have arrested a 45-year-old ex-convict, Kudjo Ntow, over the alleged rape and murder of his wife’s niece, Olivia Kwofie, 17, at Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region.
According to a police release, the incident occurred on Monday, June 1, 2026, at about 3:30 a.m. near the School B area, close to the Fire Service Station.
Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect sealed the victim’s mouth with super glue, assaulted her, and later attacked her again before fleeing the scene.
Police said one Samuel Kingsford Kwofie, who was on his way to his rubber plantation, heard cries for help and found the victim tied up and injured.
While he was escorting her to the police station, the suspect allegedly attacked them from behind, struck the victim with a cement block, and escaped.
Olivia was rushed to Agona Nkwanta Polyclinic for treatment but was later pronounced dead from her injuries.
Following intelligence work, the Regional Police Intelligence team, together with Agona Nkwanta Police, arrested Kudjo Ntow on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his hideout in Nsuaem.
He was arraigned before the Apollo Circuit Court in Takoradi on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 and remanded into prison custody.
The court ordered him to reappear on June 17, 2026, as investigations continue.
Police have commended the witness whose intervention helped police locate the victim.
Meanwhile, the Command says it is pursuing further investigations to ensure justice for the deceased and her family.
