Tuobodom Chieftaincy Dispute: DCE, Traditional Leaders Pledge Commitment to Lasting Peace

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Techiman North, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, has expressed confidence that the long-standing chieftaincy dispute at Tuobodom in the Bono East Region will soon be resolved through dialogue and collaboration.
His assurance follows a recent shooting incident in Tuobodom, which sparked fear among residents and stakeholders over a potential resurgence of conflict.
During a courtesy call on the Techiman Traditional Council to officially introduce himself after assuming office, Hon. Adom Johnson reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability across the district.
He acknowledged the recent disturbances but emphasized that, with the support of the Bono East Regional Security Council (REGSEC), productive engagements had already begun with the feuding factions to secure a lasting resolution.
“We are confident that through continuous dialogue and collaboration, we will restore lasting peace to Tuobodom,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Nana Takyi Firi II, Krontirehene of Techiman, speaking on behalf of Ɔseadeɛyɔ Akumfi Ameyaw IV, Omanhene of the Techiman Traditional Council, welcomed the DCE’s efforts and pledged the Council’s full support toward resolving the dispute.
He urged the DCE to maintain close cooperation with traditional leaders to ensure a smooth and sustainable peace process.
Both sides expressed optimism that with open communication and mutual respect, Tuobodom would soon overcome its challenges and enjoy long-term stability.
