Transfer Ban Imposed on Relegated Legon Cities

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has imposed a transfer ban on Division One side Legon Cities.

This is in response to the club’s failure to pay GHC 29,000 in outstanding salaries and benefits to former player Francis Nuer Addo after several reminders and an extended payment plan.

The debt dates back to October 2021.

The decision by the Disciplinary Committee of the FA means the lower-tier club will not be able to buy new players domestically and internationally until the debt is settled.

Legon Cities was relegated to Division One at the end of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
