There Was Clear Indication Of John Boadu’s Defeat – Researcher

Senior Research Fellow of the Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Mart Sarpong has stated that there was a clear indication of the incumbent General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. John Boadu’s defeat in the just ended National Delegates Conference.

Speaking on Opemsuo Radio with Agudey, the Senior Researcher said, he was not surprised at all about the outcome of the elections where John Boadu is defeated by Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua.

According to him, there were a number of complaints staged against the incumbent General Secretary upon assessment of his job, some of which is his countless absence at the party’s office.

Dr. Smart stated that the drastic decrease of the 2020 general elections compared to that of 2016 also accounted to his fall coupled with the absence of Chairman Freddie Blay on the ballot weakened him a lot.

He added that the declaration and endorsement of the 15 Regional Chairmen to John Boadu did not have any impact on the outcome of the results because the people are aware of the happenings and truth on grounds, and as such cannot decide for the delegates.

The lack of John Boadu to carry the members’ petition of reshuffling to President Akufo-Addo also accounted for his defeat.

Dr. Smart Sarpong has stated that it is not too late for the NPP party to infuse unity among its members to work purposely to win the 2024 elections.

According to him, achieving unity for the party should be a deliberate thing to do as the party seeks to continue staying in government and he is of the view that matured politicians as the NPP Executives will not compromise to division.

Dr. Smart stated that he has seen that level of political maturity in Chairman Wontumi who invited the General Secretary elect, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua in his house, and just as JFK has also responded to the invitation is a sign of assurance that unity is set to take place in the New Patriotic Party.
