Mahama to Meet CSOs Over Galamsey Fight

As part of efforts to clamp down on illegal mining activities in water bodies and forest reserves, the Presidency intends to engage Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to meet over 40 of them this Friday.
A letter by Callistus Mahama, the Secretary to the President, invited the Organisations to the engagement at noon at the Jubilee House in Accra.
“On the instructions of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, I am pleased to invite you to participate in a Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) engagement on illegal mining.”
He explained that the engagement aims to provide a platform for frank and constructive dialogue between the Government and civil society on the menace of illegal mining.
This is geared toward harnessing collective expertise, perspectives and solutions to address this national challenge.
