Asantehemaa Dɔte Yie: Use Of Live Bullets Banned- Otumfuo Kyeame

Baffour Kantankrankyi, a linguist of the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has announced a total restriction on the use of live ammunition for the burial rites of the late Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
This message, he said, has been relayed to all traditional authorities as part of security arrangements instituted for the safety of all guests.
“We have warned Nananom against the use of Live bullets. Gunpowder is what should be used,” the eloquent linguist said in an interview on Opemsuo Radio on the sidelines of the first day of the burial rites of Her Majesty.
He noted that traditional authorities who go contrary to the directive will be held accountable.
“If you go contrary, the police will arrest you and you will face the full rigours of the law.”
Similarly, Baffour also urged caution in the use of gunpowder.
“Those using the gunpowder must also be careful where and how they fire it.”
The carefully planned burial rites will witness a series of activities from September 15 to September 18, when the rites will come to an end.
Her Majesty will be buried on the last day at Breman Baamu.
Filing past is reserved to take place sequentially among dignitaries and the general public from September 15 to 18, between 5 am and 5 pm, except for the last day, when it will end at 11 am to make way for a burial service at 3 pm.
A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Her Majesty.
