Rites Performed for Burial Of Asokore Mampong Chief And Queen

The three-day burial rites have been performed to pave the way for the burial of Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah, Asokore Mampong Chief and Nana Saman Diawuo II, Asokore Mampong Queen.
The traditional and cultural rites began on Saturday, August 30 and ended on September 1, 2025, following their one-week observation four months ago.
Traditional authorities, royals, relatives, government officials and subjects took advantage of the occasion in the past three days to pay their last respects to the revered leaders.
Nana Boakye Yam Ababio, Nkwantakesehene, led the Kumasi Traditional Council and Asanteman Council to the grounds to honour the memories of the queen and chief.
The late head of the Nifa Division of the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) passed away days after the Queen died in February.
Their demise was confirmed on March 18, 2025, by the Nifa Division and the Asokore Mampong Traditional Council.
Keen about the development of his jurisdiction, the Architect by profession oversaw the transformation of Asokore Mampong into a first-class residential area in the Ashanti Region during his 38-year reign.
Meanwhile, the Queen promoted the welfare of women and the preservation of Asante culture, marshalling available resources for the noble courses.
Their burial will take place tonight and pave the way for the enstoolment of their successors.
