Your MoMo Is Safe; MTN to Customers
MTN Ghana has allayed fears about the safety of Mobile Money (MoMo) accounts after a cybersecurity incident resulted in unauthorised access to the personal information of some MTN customers in certain markets.
According to the telecommunication company, MoMo from MTN remains safe and secure.
It discredited claims that customers’ wallet information had been compromised.
“Disregard any claims about system compromise. No customer wallet has been affected. Your funds are safe.”
Meanwhile, it urged the customers to avoid sharing personal MoMo details.
“Avoid sharing your PIN or OTPs, do not click on any suspicious links or tolerate any unsolicited calls.”
The cybersecurity incident was said to have affected about 5,700 MTN customers.
