Police Arrest 6 Over Armed Robberies at Fertiliser Warehouse, Food Depot

The police have arrested six suspects in connection with two separate armed robbery incidents that targeted a fertiliser warehouse in Kpone and a food products warehouse in Tema Community One in May and June 2026.
Police said the coordinated attacks involved armed men who overpowered security guards before making off with bags of fertiliser and rice worth hundreds of thousands of cedis.
According to police, on May 25, 2026, a group of armed men attacked a security guard at a fertiliser warehouse in Kpone and stole 751 bags of 50kg organic fertiliser valued at GHS 431,825.
In a separate incident on June 14, 2026, another group of armed robbers attacked Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse in Tema Community One, overpowered security guards, and stole about 2,000 bags of Aaba Rice and other food products.
Following intelligence-led operations and sustained investigations, police traced the stolen items to warehouses within the Tema enclave and identified persons suspected to be linked to both robberies.
On June 16, 2026, officers conducted coordinated operations that led to the arrest of Akala Kudus, Shaibu Dauda, Abdul Rahman Moro, Giya Hudu, Razak Seidu, and Francis Ayinsabga.
During the operations, police recovered 717 bags of Aaba Rice stolen from Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse and 600 bags of fertiliser stolen from the Kpone warehouse. The recovered items have been secured as exhibits.
“The suspects are currently in police custody assisting investigations,” the Command stated. “Efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest other accomplices, recover the remaining stolen items, and bring all persons involved to justice.”
