President Akufo-Addo To End ECOWAS Chairmanship Role On July 3

The Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States Authority, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, will bring to an end his role as the ECOWAS Authority Chair this Sunday, July 3, 2022.

The ECOWAS Authority Heads will mark the end of Akufo-Addo’s leadership during its 61st Ordinary Summit in Accra on July 3, 2022.

The summit will take place at the Kempinski Gold Hotel in Accra.

President Akufo-Addo has held the Chairmanship role for two terms.

He took over from Mahamoudou Issoufou, the former President of Niger, on September 7, 2020, in Niamey in Niger.

In June 2021, he was again given the mandate to continue his leadership over the Authority.
