Police Officer Interdicted For Negligence

A police officer has been interdicted by the police administration for negligence.

In a communique, the Ghana Police Service said the officer works with the Rapid Deployment Force of the Service in Takoradi in the Western region.

The officer is said to have left a Service rifle in a commercial vehicle.

The weapon was returned by the driver of the commercial vehicle.

The driver also alleges that the officer, who has been identified as Inspector Sulemana Adam, extorted money from him when he boarded the vehicle.

According to the statement, the officer has been referred to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) for investigations.

Meanwhile, the driver of the commercial vehicle and the officer are aiding in further investigations.
