Over 41,000 Students Register For “No Fees Stress”- Ofosu Kwakye

Felix Ofosu Kwakye, the Spokesperson of President John Dramani Mahama, has announced that 41,647 students have successfully registered for the “No fees Stress” using the application portal.
In all, he said, 57,327 students have accessed the portal.
In a Facebook post, he noted that registration is necessary to obtain banking details of students for reimbursement to those who have already paid their fees and to validate lists submitted by public tertiary institutions.
The No Academic Fee initiative was initiated by the current government for first-year students of public tertiary institutions to ease the burden on families and expand access to higher education.
In an address on May 7, President John Dramani Mahama said ¢452,940,012 had been allocated for the payment of academic facility user fees for 156,294 first-year students in public tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year.
He noted that GETFUNd had also been instructed to pay the fees directly to the tertiary institutions, ensuring timely disbursement.
“The No Fees Stress application portal has been developed and is now live for first-year students to register and authenticate their eligibility for this government funding,” he noted.
Meanwhile, he announced free tertiary education for persons with disabilities, budget allocation for beneficiary students, he said, had been captured in the 2025 Budget statement.
“The Minister for Education has made relevant data available for GETFund so that they can prepare for the payment for the 2025-2026 academic year.”
