Otumfuo to Attend the Coronation of King Charles III

His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will attend the coronation of King Charles III and Camilla, the Queen Consort on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

He will be accompanied by his wife, Lady Julia.

According to a statement signed by the Chief of Staff of Manhyia Palace, the Asantehene and Lady Julia will join Monarchs and leaders from across the globe who will assemble at Westminster Abbey for what is expected to be a feast of peagentry.

“Before the coronation, His Majesty and Lady Julia will be received by King Charles in private audience at Buckingham Palace on May 4, 2023 and attend the King’s official reception for overseas guests the next day,” the statement said.

This coronation is the first in over 70 years.

Also, King Charles will be the 40th reigning monarch crowned in Westminster Abbey since 1066.

He will officially be crowned in a magnificent and deeply religious ceremony.
