Asantehene Charges Kwesi Appiah With Finding Coach For Kotoko

The life Patron of the Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has charged former coach of the Black Stars and former player of the Club, Coach Kwesi Appiah with the responsibility of finding a new head coach to manage the Club.

The Club was handled by coach Abdul Gazale up till the end of the season after head coach Seydou Zerbo was sacked in March this year.

At a joint meeting with the Asante Kotoko National Circles Council (NCC) and the Asante Kotoko Old Players at the Manhyia Palace on July 21, 2023, Otumfuo emphasised the need to mobilise players ahead of the preseason which starts on July 29.

This, he noted, can be done only after a coach is appointed for the Club.

Referencing the report of the immediate past Board of the Club, the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom disclosed the Club was in the process of buying players, however, the dissolution of the Board stalled it.

He also noted that debts including those owed players must be settled immediately.

He entreated Coach Kwesi Appiah to find a new Manager for the players immediately as well as an accommodation to house the players since they have been evicted from their residence.

“Find us a coach in the coming days so we can buy players and mobilise all the players we have for the next season.”

The 2023/2024 betPawa Premier League will begin on September 15.
