Otumfuo Is an Inspiration for Future Generations- Tamale Youth Choir

The Tamale Youth Choir has recognised Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s leadership as a symbol of hope and an inspiration for generations to come.

According to the choral group, His Majesty’s leadership, which has principally placed the welfare of his subjects on top of his scale of preference, is not only remarkable but inspiring.

“On this momentous occasion marking your 25 years of his distinguished reign as the illustrious Asantehene, we the Tamale Youth Choir come to extend our heartfelt felicitations and profound admiration to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Your Majesty, your reign has been a beacon of wisdom, unity and progress for the Asante Kingdom and beyond embodied in the cherished tradition that define the greatness of our heritage.”

They applauded the prioritisation of his people’s welfare and commitment to preserving the rich culture and tradition of Asanteman as unequalled.

“Through your visionary leadership, you have not only steered the Asante Kingdom toward prosperity but have also served as a symbol of hope and inspiration for generations to come. This silver jubilee celebration is a testament to the remarkable achievements of your reign and a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to upholding the values of unity, progress and cultural heritage.”

The group based in the Northern Region, thus extended their best wishes to the King as they prayed for “continuous success, good health and prosperity” in his future endeavours as the leader of Asanteman.

The message was conveyed through a citation presented to the King during the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Composers Competition at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on April 5, 2024.

The Tamale Youth Choir were among seven groups that participated in the competition organised by the Kumasi Evangel Choir under the auspices of Lady Julia Osei Tutu, the wife of the Asantehene.

The Tamale Youth Choir and the Obuasi Heralds Choir emerged as the winners.
