Opemsuo Radio Meets Otumfuo On Christmas

The staff of Opemsuo radio, a subsidiary of Ashanti Broadcasting Corporation- the media company of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II- has met the King for the second time since its establishment.

The staff members of the two-year-old radio station led by its General Manager, Mr Bosie Amponsah, met the King on December 27 when the King sat in state to receive the public’s Christmas wishes at the Manhyia Palace.

There were several other individuals, organisations, traditional rulers and members of the royal family who attended to wish the King.

Among them included the Presbyterian Church, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) and Regional Security Council, recently sworn-in chiefs, Prison Officers, Chiefs, queen mothers and Dr Kumaning Gyamfi.

Opemsuo radio took its turn before the King at the Afia Kobi park where the gathering was held.

This is the second time the staff of the company has met the monarch- the first being last year at the same time.

The radio station hit the airwaves for the first time on May 6, 2020- on the seventieth birthday of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Marking the second anniversary earlier this year, a series of programmes were carved out including a health walk and medical screening, an outdoor programme at Kumasi racecourse and a tournament.
