Only Dead Brains Believe ‘JuJu’ Works In Football – Kwabena Yeboah

Veteran Sports Journalist, Kwabena Yeboah, has described believe in ‘Juju’ in football games as stupid.
He indicated that winning matches has nothing to do with ‘Juju’ as many players and teams believe and fund it.
He believes opportunists use such tales to take monies from football clubs.
“It is most unfortunate the clubs in Ghana continue to heavily rely on ‘Juju’. I have heard some players emphasize that ‘Juju’ works in football. It is so stupid. It is only a dead brain who will believe that ‘Juju’ works in football.
“Some charlatans just exploit the clubs and just take monies from them and pretend football is played in the supernatural world, it is absolute rubbish”, he told Nana Aba Anamoah in an interview.
Justifying his stance, he said African clubs and teams have not achieved much in football in the international front after all their believe in ‘Juju’.
“For those who believe that ‘Juju’ plays football, how many African teams have won the club world cup, how many African teams have won the world cup”, he said.
He added that “football is so scientific that teams are spending huge sums of money, investing in infrastructure, diet and paying players well, taking care of them and buying the best material. Is anybody going to suggest that City (Manchester City) for instance is the most fierce team in England because of’ JuJu’?
“When Kotoko dominated Ghana and won the African Cup, it had nothing to do with ‘JuJu’. It was because Victor Adusei invested so much, Robert Mensah was the best coach in Africa, Oliver Acquah, Brenya, Odame, Ibrahim Sandy, Osei Kofi, Yaw Sam, Abukari, Malik. This is the reason they won the African Cup… It’s about training and being scientific. Train and pray to your God and go play.”
He is therefore of the view that “‘JuJu’ makes no sense and should be discouraged. It’s stupid and so backward. ‘JuJu’ plays no role in football.”
