NSA Posts Over 18,000 Nurses and Midwives for 2026/27 National Service

The National Service Authority (NSA) has released postings for 18,617 eligible Nurses and Midwives to enrol for the 2026/27 National Service Year. The service is scheduled to start on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
According to a statement issued today, the postings comprise candidates who successfully passed the August/September 2025 Licensure Examination conducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
All eligible trained Nurses and Midwives are required to visit the Authority’s website at https://gnsa.gov.gh/home and click on the portal to access their respective places of posting.
They are to follow the stated procedures to complete regional validation, which begins today, June 22, 2026, and ends on Friday, July 10, 2026.
The Authority also reminded the public that under Section 29(1) of the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), a person is qualified to undertake national service if that person is a Ghanaian citizen and has completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution.
NSA further drew attention to the repercussions for non-compliance.
Under Section 40 of Act 1119, an employer must not employ a person qualified to undertake national service but who has not done so, unless exempted under Section 36.
Employers are required to ascertain from prospective employees whether they are required to undertake service and whether they have completed it, or provide an exemption certificate.
Any employer who contravenes this provision is liable to pay an administrative penalty of five thousand penalty units to the Authority.
The Authority will also direct any person who obtains employment without undertaking national service to undertake it in a field determined by the Board, and the Registrar of Companies shall not register the company, partnership or business name of a qualified person who has not undertaken service unless exempted.
Management has therefore encouraged all prospective national service personnel to comply fully with the stated procedures and timelines to facilitate their successful deployment and commencement of national service.
