NPA Warns Public Against Approaching Overturned Tankers at Accident Scenes

The National Petroleum Authority has urged the public to stay away from overturned fuel tankers at accident scenes.
In a public advisory, it warned that even a small spark can trigger a devastating explosion.
The Authority said such explosions can cause serious injuries, loss of life, and extensive property damage.
It stressed that safety must come first at all accident sites involving petroleum products.
“Your safety is priceless,” the NPA said in its advisory.
The Authority advised the public to call trained professionals to handle such incidents.
Members of the public can contact the Ghana National Fire Service on 192, the Ghana Police Service on 191, or the National Petroleum Authority’s contact centre on 0302550380.
The NPA said immediate reporting to emergency services allows professionals to secure the scene and prevent further harm.
