Nottingham Forest Release Andre Ayew, 11 Others

Ghana international, Andre Dede Ayew is not on Nottingham Forest’s retained list after the 2022/2023 Premier League season.

The Club confirmed the contracts of six senior players including Ayew have ended rendering all of them free agents.

The Black Stars captain completed a transfer deal to Nottingham Forest Football Club in February during the transfer season after he ended his contract with Qatar sports club, Al Sadd SC in a mutual agreement.

With the option to choose between Nottingham Forest and Everton, the winger went in for the former.

He has made 12 appearances in the 2022-2023 season and never scored a goal. During one of his appearances, Ayew squandered a penalty kick attempt against Tottenham.

The Club said it is not extending his contract alongside five other senior players including Cafú, Jack Colback, Jesse Lingard, Jordan Smith and Lyle Taylor.

Meanwhile, six academy players will also depart the club. They are Billy Fewster, Alex Gibson-Hammond, Ryan Hammond, Nicky Hogarth, Adnan Kanurić and Lewis Salmon.

“The club would like to thank each player for their contributions during their time at The City Ground,” a statement from the Club said.
