KNUST Appreciates Otumfuo

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has appreciated the profound support it graciously receives from the King of the Asante Kingdom, who doubles as the institution’s Chancellor, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Rita Akosua Dickson, accompanied by other Management members of the school, joined the last Awukudae Festival of 2025 to convey their gratitude.

Outlining the countless support received, Prof Dickson highlighted the King’s visit to the school over the weekend for the 59th Congregation, which culminated in the commissioning of some projects on campus.

She acknowledged that it was at a time Otumfuo had just returned from an international trip.

“Otumfuo has been in charge of the institution for years, and we are blessed to have him. Right after his recent trip, he came to our congregation and the other projects commissioning. We acknowledge Otumfuo’s keenness on the issues pertaining to the institution. We came to thank him.”

She further sought the Asantehene’s blessings for the year ahead.

“We also seek His Majesty’s blessings for the years ahead so we can meet the expectations of Asanteman, Ghana, Africa and the world and to be able to render better educational services.”

The VC was accompanied by Benjamin Owusu Esq, Registrar; Prof David Asamoah, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr Charles Nsia, Finance Officer; Prof Christian Koranteng, Head of College of Art and Built Environment; Prof Asantewaa Nkansah, Dean of Students; and others.
