New National Ambulance Service Audit Committee Board Inaugurated

The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has officially inaugurated a new five-member Audit Committee to oversee and steer the financial affairs of the service.
As an independent sub-committee of the Board of Directors, the Audit Committee is tasked with overseeing the organisation’s financial reporting, internal controls, risk management, and compliance with statutory laws and regulations.
Its core mandate is to ensure absolute transparency and accountability by serving as an objective watchdog for the Service.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, expressed high optimism for the future under the new committee’s leadership.
He voiced strong confidence that the members’ collective professionalism and wealth of experience would seamlessly sustain and build upon the solid foundation laid by their predecessors.

He pledged that all future recommendations from the committee would be treated with the utmost seriousness and implemented effectively to advance the core mandate of the National Ambulance Service.
