Agradaa Begins Plea Bargain Agreement in Nude Photo Distribution Case

The High Court in Accra has directed the parties in the case involving Patricia Asieduaa, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, and one another to file the terms of a proposed plea bargain ahead of the next sitting.

Nana Agradaa, a former fetish priestess turned evangelist, is standing trial for allegedly broadcasting nude images of Pastor Emmanuel Appiah Fumum (popularly known as Osofo Biblical) on her TV station and social media platforms without his consent.

Agradaa is already serving 15 years imprisonment hard labour for her involvement in fraudulent religious activities.

She started the sentence in July 2025.

Plea Bargaining

On July 22, 2022, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo passed a bill to introduce plea bargaining into Ghana’s justice system for some cases.

Plea bargaining is a process in criminal justice where an accused person relinquishes the right to a full trial in exchange for some other benefit.

In consideration of a guilty plea, the accused person gets lesser charges, a reduced number of offences, or receives a lesser sentence.

Proceedings
In court on Tuesday (Dec 2, 2025), the judge ordered that the agreement be filed at least three clear days before December 16, 2025, the next sitting date.

Prosecutors had told the court that they were considering applying for a bench warrant for the second accused.

However, defence counsel explained that they had not been served with the hearing notice.

Counsel for Nana Agradaa informed the Court that discussions with the Office of the Attorney-General on a potential plea bargain were “far advanced” and requested a short adjournment.

The prosecutor confirmed that the complainant, Emmanuel Appiah Fumum, had been involved in the ongoing discussions and was present in court.

The judge subsequently ordered the court registrar to ensure that a hearing notice was properly served on counsel for the second accused before the next court date.

Allegations
According to prosecutors, the images shared by Agradaa were shown during a live programme in which panelists mocked the complainant, contrary to provisions of the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), which prohibits the non-consensual sharing of intimate images.

Nana Agradaa—who is currently serving a 15-year jail term in a separate case for defrauding by false pretence—was present in court.

Lawyers for Nana Agradaa raised concerns about recent media interviews granted by the complainant, in which he allegedly claimed that their client had been in a poor state since her incarceration.

The presiding judge, however, urged the prosecution to educate the complainant on refraining from such public comments.
