New Black Queens Coach Engages Media Today

The newly appointed head coach of Ghana’s senior national female team, Kim Lars Björkegren is expected to engage the country’s press.

It will be his first press conference after taking office in January following the departure of Nora Hauptle whose contract expired in December 2024.

The media engagement will be held at the Conference Room of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in Accra on Friday around 11 am.

“This press conference aims to shed light on his vision and plans for the senior Women’s national team,” the FA announced in a press statement.

It continued, “The press event will be streamed live on GFA’s Facebook, YouTube, and the GFA App, allowing fans to stay updated on the latest developments.”

With the assistance of Charles Sampson and Anita Wiredu, Björkegren will be leading the senior female national team into the upcoming WAFCON 2025 which will run from July 5 to July 26, 2025.

His primary objective is to prepare the team for the tournament, the GFA noted.
