Mahama Meets Wisconsin Governor in Pursuit of Trade and Agri Partnerships

President John Dramani Mahama on Monday met with Governor Tony Evers of Wisconsin State, USA, at the Presidency as part of the Governor’s trade mission to Accra.

The visit, according to the Presidency, reflects growing international confidence in Ghana’s economy following the successful completion of the IMF programme.

President Mahama used the meeting to highlight key government initiatives aimed at positioning Ghana as a competitive, export-driven economy.

These include the 24-Hour Economy programme and the newly established Accelerated Export Development Advisory Committee.

The President also expressed strong interest in exploring agricultural partnerships and other business opportunities with Wisconsin State.

Governor Evers, who was leading a business delegation, reaffirmed his commitment to building global partnerships and showcasing Wisconsin as a prime destination for business growth and investment.

The discussions centred on trade, agribusiness, manufacturing, and investment opportunities that can create mutual benefits for Ghana and Wisconsin.

President Mahama assured the delegation that “Ghana is open for business and ready to build lasting partnerships that drive shared prosperity.”

The Wisconsin trade mission forms part of broader efforts to deepen economic ties between Ghana and US states, particularly in agriculture, value addition, and export development.
