A/R: Work Begins on Anwiankwanta-Santasi Road – Amoakohene

Construction has officially commenced on the Anwiankwanta-Santasi road, according to Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene.

In a Facebook post on June 3, 2026, the Minister said the intervention of President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister for Roads and Highways led to contractor Kofi Job mobilising to site.

He confirmed that work has since begun at Anwiankwanta.

Dr Amoakohene described the development as a major step toward improving connectivity, boosting economic activity, and ensuring safer travel for all users of the important corridor.

The Minister acknowledged that the collapsed bridge section along the route has long posed challenges to commuters and residents in the Ashanti Region.

The Regional Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to partnering with traditional leaders and local communities to accelerate development across the region.

He added that infrastructure remains central to unlocking growth and improving livelihoods in Ashanti.
