Mahama Meets UK PM Keir Starmer at No. 10 for Breakfast Talks

President John Dramani Mahama held a breakfast meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at No. 10 Downing Street this morning as part of efforts to deepen Ghana-UK bilateral relations.

The President was accompanied by Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Trade and Industry Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, and Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland, Zita Sabah Benson.

While details of the discussions were not immediately released, the presence of Ghana’s Finance and Trade Ministers signals talks likely centred on trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting adds to President Mahama’s engagements in London, where he recently addressed Chatham House on Ghana’s strategic priorities in a changing global order, including UN reform and the Accra Reset Initiative.

The breakfast at No. 10 Downing Street underscores ongoing efforts by both governments to strengthen post-Brexit trade ties and explore new areas of partnership in finance, industry and development.

He is also scheduled to have an audience with King Charles before returning to Ghana on June 3.
