Lake Road Completed- Road Ministry
The Ministry of Roads and Highways has announced the completion of the Lake Road in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
This was announced on January 11, 2023, in a social media post.
The project includes a 2.73km dual carriage road from Coco-Cola Bottling Company to Dompoase Junction, the construction of a new bus terminal at Chirapatre and the provision of streetlights facilitating movement of residents of Ahinsan, Atonso, Bokro, and Chirapatre.
“The project has immensely facilitated mobility and accessibility through the reduction of travel time on the stretch.”
The road often featured in the updates of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah during his appearances before the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs.
The main workload, the Minister indicated during one of his appearances, was the construction of a bridge on the Susan River across the stretch, the biggest drainage system in the metropolis, as well as the construction of a pedestrian bridge on the Susan.
In February 2023, he said the whole work was 99% completed.
