KMA Demolishes Church Wall Built on Bantama M/A JHS Land Without Permit

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has halted unauthorised development and demolished a church wall under construction on land belonging to Bantama M/A Junior High School.

According to KMA authorities, the structure was being erected without the required building permit and had encroached on school property.

The demolition exercise was led by the Mayor, Hon Richard Ofori Agyemang.

Officials said the action followed several warnings issued to the developers to stop work and regularise the development, which they failed to heed.

The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public lands and enforcing planning and building regulations across the metropolis. KMA stated that no individual or group will be allowed to appropriate lands reserved for schools, hospitals and other public facilities.

“Protecting Public Lands. Enforcing the Law,” the Assembly said in a Facebook post announcing the exercise.
