Kennedy Agyapong Says 1st Slot On Ballot Paper Step To Victory

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a Presidential aspirant of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has interpreted his position on the Special Electoral College Ballot paper as an initial step towards his victory in the Presidential Primary.

The NPP Member of Parliament for Assin Central picked the first position during the presidential balloting on July 26.

He is followed accordingly on the ballot paper by Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Joe Ghartey, Kwadwo Poku, Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Francis Addai-Nimoh, Kofi Konadu Apraku, Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko and Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a tweet, he said the position is a first step toward his victory at the party level and then the national level.

“This is the first step toward me leading our party in the general elections of 2024, so I implore you all, my brothers and sisters. I am listed first (NUMBER 1) on the ballot for Super Delegates. When you vote for me, I’ll take the party to victory.”

Another reaction has come from Afriyie Akoto who is 5th on the ballot paper. He says his place symbolizes victory from God.

“I am happy to announce that by the grace of God, I picked the #5 to be on the ballot paper for the Special Electoral College election…The grace of God is indeed upon me as the #5 symbolizes God’s grace, goodness and favour toward humans.”

A special electoral college will be held by the NPP on August 26, 2023, to cut down the number of aspirants to five before the final election for a flagbearer.
