Kamala Harris Lands In Tanzania From Ghana

United States vice President Kamala Harris is currently in Tanzania following her visit to Ghana.

This forms part of her week-long working visit to Africa.

She concluded her three-day stay in Ghana on Wednesday after arriving on Sunday, March 26.

She is accompanied by her husband, Douglas Emhoff.

In Ghana, she held meetings with the President of Ghana, entrepreneurs and artists.

As part of her activities in Ghana, she held a joint press conference with President Akufo-Addo, participated in a state banquet, gave a lecture on innovation and women’s empowerment, visited the Cape Coast Castle in the Central region and met the Paramount chief of the Oguaa traditional area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II.

Her objective for the trip, she told Ghanaians, is to increase investments in Africa and facilitate economic growth and opportunity specifically in the areas of economic empowerment of women and girls, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, and supporting the work that must be done to increase food security, including adaptation to the effects of the climate crisis.

Her trip is also to build on the recent U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit that President Biden hosted in Washington in December 2022.

She landed in Tanzania last night and will meet President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Thursday.

“Great to be here, Tanzania”, she tweeted.

She will leave for Zambia on Friday, March 31 where she will wrap up her trip.
