Office of Special Prosecutor Remains Akufo-Addo’s Towering Legacy- Mannaseh Azure

Investigative journalist Manasseh Awuni Azure has opined that the creation of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) stands as former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s towering legacy.

According to him, the creation is a testament to the fight against corruption.

“The Office of the Special Prosecutor however remains a towering legacy of Akufo-Addo in the fight against corruption.”

However, he expressed reservations about the occupants whom he admitted have been confronted with real-time obstacles in trying to make that office work.

According to him, Martin Amidu and Kissi Agyebeng could have reinforce hope in the Office by being a bit more “assertive and impactful”.

“But from my standpoint as an investigative journalist who has exposed some of the biggest corruption scandals in the country, I believe the first two Special Prosecutors could have been more assertive and impactful.

“They could have given Ghanaians more hope that, indeed, there was something special about the Office of the Special Prosecutor.”
