Ghana is Open for Business- Otumfuo Announces to Canada

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has rallied Canadian investors with the propagation of Ghana’s prospects.
Speaking at the Opening of the Ghana Sports Village at Sakofa Square in Toronto on June 17, 2026, His Majesty said the gathering represents a deepening bilateral relationship between Ghana and Canada.
His Majesty thereby announced Ghana’s readiness for business investments and wooed interested Canadians.
“Ghana is open for business, open for tourism, and open for collaboration. We invite our Canadian friends to experience the warmth of our heritage through the music, textiles and arts displayed in the village.”
His Majesty inaugurated the village ahead of the Black Stars’ opening World Cup game against Panama in Toronto.
As guest of honour, His Majesty was joined by revered Asante chiefs, government officials and other dignitaries.
Among them were Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs James Gyakye Quayson, Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana H.E. Myriam Montrat, 2024 Vice Presidential Candidate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, MP for Okaikwei Central Patrick Yaw Boamah, members of the Asante Kotoko Board and others.
Pro-Asante groups from Toronto, Montreal, Sweden, Bantama and other parts of the globe, as well as other tribal groups, also paid homage to the King.
