HE Kufuor Sends Felicitations on Asantehene’s Birthday

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has conveyed heartfelt well-wishes to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as His Majesty celebrates another year of life.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Opemsuo Radio, he touted the unmatched leadership of the Asantehene.
“He is Nana Osei Tutu II. We see so much of the reign of Opemsuo Osei Tutu, who founded Asante, in the current leadership. His Majesty has raised the Kingdom to prominence with the conviction that education is the weapon for the current dispensation.”
The eighty-six-year-old statesman described the Monarch as an ideal leader and prayed for an extended life and blessings for him.
“He is a servant leader. As Otumfuo celebrates 75 years, we pray for strength, wisdom, and empathy for the development of Ghana, with Asante at the centre. May God grant him long life and preserve his good heart. May he coninue to be a blessing to the whole country. I wish him a happy birthday.”
This is a significant milestone in the life and reign of the Occupant of the Golden Stool; however, it is being observed solemnly.
The Manhyia Palace calendar is clear, with no events planned to commemorate the globally acclaimed traditional leader.
However, persons who wish to pay respects to the King in kind and substance will have the opportunity to do so on May 7, 2025, which will be the fourth Awukudae Festival of the year.
