GSFP Appeals for Support to Build Hygienic Kitchens in Beneficiary Schools

The National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), Hajia Fati Forgor, is appealing for support for beneficiary schools with modest, hygienic kitchens.
The appeal was directed at corporate organisations, private individuals, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), philanthropic organisations, and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
She made the appeal in Talensi, Upper East Region, during the commissioning of a newly constructed modest kitchen donated by a benevolent individual to Gorogo, a GSFP beneficiary school in the district.
Hajia Fati said the kitchens are critical to enhancing the effective implementation of the Programme in communities across the country.
She commended the donor for the generous contribution and urged other well-meaning individuals and institutions to emulate the gesture.
According to her, such support will help provide safe and conducive cooking facilities for school feeding nationwide.
As part of an unannounced monitoring visit to beneficiary schools in the region, the National Coordinator also paid courtesy calls on the Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Akamugri Donatus Atanga, and the Talensi District Chief Executive, Hon. John Millim Nabwomya.
Discussions focused on issues relating to the effective implementation of the Ghana School Feeding Programme and ways to strengthen collaboration with local authorities to improve service delivery to pupils.
