Ghana Signs MOU with Cambridge Education to Strengthen Education Reform

Ghana’s Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Cambridge Education aimed at supporting the country’s education reform agenda.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the ongoing Education World Forum in London.

According to the Minister, the MOU establishes a clear and practical framework for collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Cambridge Education.

Under the partnership, both parties will work together on system analysis, curriculum and assessment strengthening, and teacher professional development.

The collaboration will also focus on integrating crosscutting priorities into Ghana’s education system, including climate education and artificial intelligence.

In a Facebook post, Iddrisu said the agreement aligns with the government’s broader efforts to modernise education delivery and equip learners with skills relevant to a changing global economy.

He noted that the partnership would provide technical expertise and evidence-based approaches to help address existing gaps in teaching, learning, and assessment.

Cambridge Education is expected to support Ghana in reviewing and strengthening key areas of the education system to improve learning outcomes and teacher capacity.

The integration of climate education and AI was highlighted as part of efforts to prepare students for future challenges and opportunities.

The Education World Forum brings together education ministers and policymakers from across the world to discuss strategies for improving education systems.
