My Mission in Canada Was to Secure Investment for Job Creation in Ghana- Otumfuo

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has revealed that his visit to Canada in June was driven by his vision to secure foreign direct investment for sustainable job creation in Ghana.

The King indicated that building stronger commercial bridges with Canadian industrial players is critical for establishing local factories, transferring technology, and scaling manufacturing operations across Ghana.

“We do all these for Ghana so that the teeming youth will get jobs. We went only to secure jobs for Ghanaians, and we are optimistic that the relations between Ghana and Canada will be strengthened so that industries will be set up and jobs will be created,” he told the leadership of Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce on August 7, 2026.

The Asantehene further encouraged the Chamber to keep up in pursuit of good work.

“Pursue your vision. Ghana needs investors so that we can create jobs.”

Otumfuo welcomed the President of the Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Linda Vasnani, and the Chief Executive Officer, Edwina Atta, at the Manhyia Palace on August 7, 2026.

The team expressed appreciation to Asantehene for honouring the Ghana-Canada Investment Forum 2026 held in June and announced the certification of His Majesty as an honorary member of the Chamber.

They also presented a commemorative book featuring photographs of the Asantehene’s activities in Canada.
