Ghana Civil Aviation Restricts Delta Airlines N95DN Aircraft From Ghana

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) has banned Delta Airlines’ flight with registration number N195DN from Ghana.

This follows an investigation conducted by ACAA which revealed that that particular aircraft has fuel imbalance issues with its left tank, which is the main tank.

This issue, the ACAA noted, accounted for interruptions in booked flights on July 25, 2022, July 31, 2022, and August 1, 2022.

A statement from the Authority signed by the Director-General, Charles Kraikue said that “it was expected that after such a negative reportage, Delta would have thoroughly investigated the issue to arrive at the root cause of the failure before dispatching the aircraft on flights.

“Rather, the aircraft was flown within the United States for a time and then dispatched back to Accra, only for the problem to reoccur”.

This, it described as unacceptable “therefore with immediate effect, Delta Airlines is being advised not to dispatch the B767 332 with registration number N95DN for flights to Accra”.

It also called for the Airline to put adequate plans to change the kind of flights that ply the JFK-ACC-JKK route “as soon as practicable”.
