Steve Hanke, a professor of applied economics at Johns Hopkins University, has reacted to Gabby Otchere Darko’s call for Ghanaians to commend the Akufo-Addo-led government.
The economist believes the comment of the leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is out of place.
“Spoiler alert”, he described.
He believes Gabby must be living on a different planet, the reason for that statement.
“Leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Otchere-Darko says Pres. Akufo-Addo deserves “praise” for his handling of the economy. SPOILER ALERT: Otchere-Darko must be on another planet”, the economist tweeted.
According to him, Ghana’s inflation stands at 81% contrary to the 33.9% put out by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
Yesterday, Gabby tweeted that Ghana must commend the Akufo-Addo-led government, particularly the Ministry of Finance headed by Ken Ofori Atta for how it is handling the country’s economy in these most challenging times.
“Despite slump in revenues, bills are being paid, including salaries, roads being fixed, & money found for programmes like YouStart”, he said.
