Speaker Bagbin Elected African Parliamentarians’ Network Against Corruption Prez

Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has been elected the President of the African Parliamentarians’ Network Against Corruption (APNAC).

The election took place during the 9th Biennial General Meeting held in Accra.

“The Speaker accepted the role with humility and an unwavering commitment to promoting integrity in public life and supporting the continent’s fight against corruption,” Parliament said in a statement.

Speaker Bagbin expressed gratitude to the outgoing President and Board Members for their service to the Network.

He noted that their leadership had provided a strong foundation on which the new administration will continue to build, adding that the Network remained thankful for their dedication, collective wisdom and lasting contribution.

He further pledged to work with members to advance the vision and mission of APNAC and called for unity and cooperation, saying collective effort was vital to strengthening parliaments, improving accountability and building a continent where integrity is upheld as a standard practice.
