Floods Disrupt National Peace Council Operations

The National Peace Council, Ghana, has suffered significant damage after torrential rains on Monday inundated its Head Office premises in Accra and disrupted its operations.
In a statement, the Council said floodwaters submerged several offices, including that of the Executive Secretary, as well as directorates and stores.
Office furniture, electronic equipment, and some documents were damaged, resulting in a major operational setback for the institution.
Executive Secretary of the NPC, Dr George Amoh, joined staff in an emergency effort to salvage equipment and recovered some valuable materials from the flood-affected offices.
Following an initial assessment, Dr Amoh expressed concern over the impact of the flooding on the Council’s work.
He has appealed to government, development partners, corporate organisations, and well-meaning Ghanaians to support efforts to replace the damaged items and restore normal operations at the Council.
