KMA Issues Final Ultimatum to Remove Unauthorised Structures Around Baba Yara Stadium

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has served a final notice to owners of unauthorised temporary structures around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

It is directing them to vacate the area by the end of July.

In a statement dated June 29, 2026, the Assembly said all owners of temporary structures that do not conform to its specifications must voluntarily remove them on or before Wednesday, July 30, 2026.

It warned that on Thursday, July 31, 2026, the KMA together with its Security Taskforce will undertake a massive decongestion exercise around the facility.

The Assembly is advising affected traders and occupants to remove all valuable items from the structures before the deadline to avoid any loss or damage.

It noted that before this final notice, it had held several engagements with the owners and other relevant stakeholders, as well as issued public notices, to ensure compliance.

The KMA is therefore urging all owners of the unapproved structures to act immediately in their own interest.
