Asantehemaa Blesses Miss College Ghana

The Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III has given her blessings to Miss College Ghana, a reality beauty pageant.

This was during a courtesy visit by the organisers, sponsors, contestants, the reigning queen and the past queen on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Manhyia Palace.

The visit to the Palace- an avenue popular for the preservation of cultural heritage- preceded the cultural edition of the show.

Speaking to opemsuo.com ahead of the visit, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PY Events Ghana, organisers of the pageant, Mr Bernard Twene Fosu said, “We felt the need to come here to pay a courtesy visit to Asantehemaa.

“This is a programme for women and since Asantehemaa is the mother of all women in Asanteman, we had to come for her blessings and counsel.”

Emphasizing the significance of pageantry in accentuating talents, he said the programme is aimed at giving the young ladies the platform to exhibit their talents.

“Miss College is a pageant show which affords young ladies the opportunity and platform to exhibit their talents to the world. The ladies are picked from all the Colleges and institutions in the country after rigorous selection processes for the show.”

He further urged the young ladies to take advantage of such platforms.

“Pageants like ours give people the privilege to sell themselves to the world market. You can capitalize on this to show the world what you have got.”
