Govt to Announce Plans For Sustained Affordable Data

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George says his Ministry will announce plans for sustained affordable data bundles in the country.
According to him, the government has short, medium and long-term measures in place.
The announcement will be made on Friday, March 7, 2025.
“Tomorrow, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations would outline short, medium and long-term plans towards a sustained reduction in data prices.”
This was contained in a Facebook post announcing a special data bundle package for all Ghanaians as the country celebrates its 68th Independence Day.
As part of the national celebration, the government has reached an agreement with telecommunication companies to offer a 6GB Data Bundle at ¢10.
This is an adjustment from the 1GB or 3GB offerings on holidays at ¢10 following an agreement will all telecommunication companies operating in the country.
According to the lawmaker, this affirms the government’s commitment to build the enablers for a truly digitalized Ghana that offers the vast opportunity of the interconnected world to Ghanaians right in the comfort of their homes.
