This was disclosed by the Ghana Police Service in a brief statement on Facebook on February 9, 2023.

It explained that the outbreak was in one of the buildings at the Police Headquarters.

A few hours ago when the police announced the outbreak in the statement, they said personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service were at the scene and had succeeded in bringing the situation under control.

They noted that there was no casualty and the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.

“We wish to thank the Fire Service team and our officers who are assisting to ensure that the Fire did not spread to the entire building”, the police concluded.

This came about as the Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akufo Dampare is out on a duty call to the Ahafo Region.

He is with some members of the Police Management Board and the Ahafo Regional Police Command.

Already, they have been to the Palaces of the Omanhene, Nana Appiah Kubi Paabo Katakyie IV of Sankore and Osahene Kwaku Aterkyi II of Kukuom.
