Energy Ministry, Finance Align on Roadmap to Strengthen Ghana’s Power and Renewables Sector

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has begun aligning its sector priorities with the Ministry of Finance to accelerate reforms across petroleum, power and renewable energy.

Energy Minister John Jinapor said he led the leadership of agencies under the Ministry to a productive engagement with the Finance Ministry on Tuesday morning to chart a clear path for delivery.

According to the Minister, who announced the meeting in a Facebook post, each agency presented its strategic roadmap, outlining ongoing reforms, key priorities and the support required from government to drive progress.

Mr Jinapor said he was encouraged by the commitment of Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson and his team to work closely with the Energy Ministry in providing the necessary backing for these priorities.

He noted that the collaboration is in line with President Mahama’s vision of transforming Ghana’s energy sector.

The Minister added that stronger inter-governmental collaboration is being pursued to lay the foundation for a more secure energy future.

The focus, he said, is on strengthening energy security, expanding access, promoting investment, accelerating the clean energy transition, and delivering lasting value for Ghanaians.
