Foreign Affairs Ministry to Expedite Replacement of Passports Lost in Floods

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed condolences to victims of this week’s devastating floods across Ghana and announced measures to replace passports that were lost or damaged in the disaster.

In a statement, acknowledged that many citizens may have lost their passports or had them damaged as a result of the flooding.

To address this, it has decided to implement an expedited replacement process for all Ghanaian passports affected by the floods.

Affected persons have been asked to contact the Ministry from Friday, 3rd July to Friday, 17th July 2026 on 055 936 8563.

Callers are to provide their name, date of birth and gender as contained in the lost or damaged passports, as well as a phone number for easy follow-up.

The Ministry said it intends to replace all lost and damaged passports within a week.

It added that it stands in solidarity with all affected persons during this difficult period and remains committed to supporting the government’s recovery efforts.
