Education Minister Enstooled as Nkosuohene

The Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has been enstooled as Development Chief (Nkosuohene) of Tepa Traditional Council by the Paramount Chief of Tepa Traditional Area, Dr. Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I.

Dr. Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I explained that the honorary chieftaincy position was conferred on the Education Minister due to the significant transformation that has taken place in Ghana’s education system since he assumed office.

He highlighted the impact of Hon. Dr. Adutwum’s ideas on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Dr. Adutwum’s contributions to the success of President Akufo-Addo’s Free Senior High School vision were also applauded.

Dr. Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I emphasised that the Tepa Senior High School has undergone massive infrastructural development, and through the Minister’s vision, Tepa has received a Teacher Trainee College.

The Tepamanhene acknowledged these achievements, saying, “These and many others have come to my recognition, finding the need to honour my son, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.”

As the Nkosuohene of Tepa Traditional Area, the Minister was given the stool name, Nana Yaw Adutwum I.

During a grand style durbar, the Tepa Traditional Council also presented a citation to the Education Minister.

In response, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum (Nana Yaw Adutwum I) accepted the honour conferred on him and pledged to work closely with the council to promote development in the area.

The Education Minister was honoured during his final day of his four-day tour in the Ashanti Region, after visiting the Tepa Senior High School.
