Dollar Gift: Presidency Silence Means Sammy Gyamfi Has Its Blessing- Minority

The Minority in parliament has interpreted the Jubilee House’s silence over the viral donation of dollars to controversial fetish priest-turned-evangelist, Patricia Oduro, by the Acting CEO of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi.
According to the group, the silence means the presidency approves the conduct of the official, which has since generated myriad public sentiments.
“There has been silence from the Presidency, no reprimand from the Ministry of Finance, and no action from the Office of the President or the National Security Secretariat. It appears this act has the quiet blessing of a regime that has long abandoned people’s interests for personal gain.”
It opined that the action of the National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a display of financial recklessness and a betrayal of public trust.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmakers find it unforgivable that this transpired at a time when Ghanaians are grappling with the devastating effects of the Cedi, inflation, and the unbearable cost of living.
“It is even more shameful that this act was committed by someone who has in the past championed populist rhetoric about economic discipline, Cedi loyalty, and anti-corruption.”
It disagrees with commentaries that suggest that Sammy Gyamfi did no wrong and affirmed that this is a test of the integrity and faith of President John Mahama.
Sammy was captured in a viral video handing out some dollars to Patricia, known as Nana Agradaa, after exchanging pleasantries.
