Covid Vaccination Drive Takes Effect In Ashanti Region

The Ashanti Regional Directorate  of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) is undertaking a round of covid vaccination for unvaccinated residents.

The exercise began on Wednesday, April 26 and will come to an end on Sunday, April 31.

The last vaccination drive in the region took place in January this year.

It is reported that a total of 1,736,009 persons, representing 53.9 per cent in the region, have so far been double vaxxed.

Single doses have been administered to 2,431,732 people in the region.

With the current drive, the Directorate is targeting 140,000 people in all the districts in the region.

The GHS has made it clear that vaccination remains the most effective way of protecting against the COVID-19 disease.

It has also assured that the vaccines are safe, effective and capable of preventing illness, hospitalisation and death from COVID
